Resident. Local and uncommon, mainly recorded in England, but also less frequently from Wales and Scotland.

Montgomeryshire Status

Very rarely recorded in North Wales, the two county records of this moth have both been from the north east corner of the county (see pics below). 

Wingspan :   M & F, 14-16mm.

Flight time & Voltinity (Univoltine)

Habitat

Thickets, copses, open woodland and hedgerows.

Foodplant

Prunus spp.

Lifestage data

Spinning. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva feeds within a folded leaf or a spun shoot. Pupates in the larval habitation or on the ground in leaf litter.
